This was the question that the EU-funded SENDER project, coordinated by Smart Innovation Norway, aimed to answer.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The project concluded on 31 March 2025 after 4.5 years of collaboration between academia, industry, government, and civil society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-smarte-energilosninger-og-samskaping\">Smart energy solutions and co-creation<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sender-h2020.eu\/\">SENDER<\/a> has developed smart energy solutions that engage both consumers and prosumers \u2013 those who both produce and use electricity. He adds:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis included maximizing the use of next-generation energy services, creating AI-driven digital twins of consumer behavior, and implementing smart home solutions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-pilotprosjekter-i-tre-land\">Pilot projects in three countries<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Through co-creation processes involving 46 stakeholders at three pilot sites in Austria, Finland, and Spain, solutions such as smart water heaters, artificial intelligence for energy consumption forecasting, and integration with EV charging stations were tested in nearly 400 households.
